---This page is under construction. I've typed all of this up over the course of a couple hours of drafting, so please bear with me while I try to make it a bit clearer---
Please have an image of some sort ready, as well as the size and format. I do not do design work, I only provide the digitization and production. You may contact me to start a conversation, but I will not give quotes without seeing the design. The price may also change if the design changes from the first contact to the actual order.
I don't require a fee for the digitization of the item, and will provide one sample per design to be photographed in as many angles as you would like. I will not, however, mail you the sample. It will be kept with my other wholesale examples unless you place an order. In that case, it will be shipped to you along with your items. If you've had me make changes to the design along the way, only the final version sample will be sent.
I used to have no MoQ for anything, but I have had to impose a small MoQ now that is dependant on the type of item being purchased. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. This is a way of protecting myself from people taking advantage of the wholesale discount for personal-use items. [I am currently considering the possibility of bulk personal use discounts, and the information will likely be added to either the Custom Work page or my upcoming FAQ page. It will be linked here when/if I add it.]
Use the contact form to the left to submit a request for more information regarding your wholesale project after reading the following. Be sure to read the footnotes!
Here we go:
Very important note: The largest hoop that I have available to me is 7.5" by 13.8." As I say in one of the points below, I will be uploading a template so that you may visualize how your design will look.
I've finally understood why businesses don't list wholesale pricing! Sometimes, designs are complex and will require higher cost. To promise a price, even based purely on size like I used to, can really be a shot in the foot! So please keep that in mind - that complexity may affect the price. In most cases it won't, but the possibility is reason enough to not even list prices in the form of "as low as." Speaking of other businesses, please be kind when I say that I cannot possibly offer the same low prices as large manufacturers.**
The main thing that I've had to impose a minimum quantity on right now are baseball/trucker-style caps. Basically any cap with a brim. The machine needs a special hat attachment for these, and it can be a little tedious to set up and take down for just a few items. I strive to be as efficient as possible, which means doing as many as possible while I have the attachments set up.
- Brimmed caps have a design size limit of 2" tall for most caps due to the equipment available for my specific machine. For the same reason, extra tall caps and caps with long brims are not possible to embroider. This is out of my control, and I can't make exceptions.
- I can also do embroidery on the side of caps.
- [I will put a list of acceptable cap sizes here, as well as the width limit of designs]
- Base minimum quantity for brimmed caps is 20.
- If two or more designs, the minimum is 8 per design, but 20 is still the MoQ overall.
- Non-brimmed caps, such as beanies, have a MoQ of 12 regardless of design size.
Patches also have an MoQ depending on their size. This is to reduce material waste by fitting as many as possible into one large hoop. That way, there is a lot less un-usable (too small) excess to cut off!
- All MoQs refer to one single design. Some exceptions may be made.
- [I am going to upload a template/better explanation of how I measure my MoQs before I get too detailed here. I need to word it more understandably than my first draft of this section! Basically I go by material efficiency as a priority when deciding for these.]
- Iron-on backing is included at no extra charge. Therefore if you would like your patches to be non-iron-on, there is no discount for it.
- All non-backed patches will still have a non-iron-on backing applied to protect the thread from getting caught or fraying.
- Special backing, such as velcro or even pin-back, can be discussed!
Jackets and clothing:
- Logo or name/monogram embroidery is my least expensive service. As such, it has a fairly high MoQ of 25. Additional embroidery on the same item, as long as it is also also small, will be heavily discounted.
- Large pieces, such as the back of a sweater or jacket, will have a minimum of 15.
- [Another in-progress point: thickness of jacket/clothing materials is important!]\
[Other item types will be added as I work on this page!]
Re-Sale Certificates
I will require a copy of a re-sale certificate or for tax purposes for all wholesale orders. This is something you should have as a re-sale business, so I recommend finding the relevant one for your state to have on hand!
In my state of Minnesota, this Uniform Sales Tax Certificate is accepted. However, there are only 36 states that you can be registered in in order to use it.
Minnesota doesn't legally require small wholesale businesses to request copies of this, but I personally like to keep any sales records on-hand in case of audit. Keeping records is extremely important to me in general, as well as checking that a re-seller is indeed using my wholesale services for re-sale.
If you are in Mississippi, which neither provides Re-Sale Certificate Forms nor allows use of the Uniform Sales Tax Certificate for either buying or selling, you will need to provide a digital copy of valid Seller's Permit. This is a physical document containing your Sales Tax number and date of issue that can be verified through a tool on the MS Revenue website.
Re-sale certificates will have an identifying number on it - I highly recommend you register for a business ID number! My state (Minnesota) accepts either a tax ID or a Driver's License number. You only need to submit one re-sale certificate, not one per purchase. Make sure that your registration is up-to-date and hasn't expired within your state.
Footnotes
**Please keep in mind that my wholesale pricing cannot match large manufacturers. I have a single-head machine, which means that I can only do one hoop's worth of work at a time. Large manufacturers and warehouses can provide rock-bottom pricing because they have large machines with multiple heads and much larger hoops. They can produce several items in the same amount of time that it would take to do just one. While every head must be doing the same design, they can do as many caps as there are heads on the machine. They also have humongus hoops that can hold a massive amout of fabric to mass-produce patches. I have no shade to throw at these businesses. I don't think I'm superior for being "small." But I need people to understand why my pricing is higher by necessity.
